MIAMI, May 22 /PRNewswire/ — Doctor Diabetic Supply, Inc., one of the nation’s leading distributors of diabetic testing supplies, announced today that it has been selected by The Centers for medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide mail-order diabetic testing supplies to beneficiaries in 10 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs). The selection of Doctor Diabetic Supply is a result of the first round of the medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) competitive bidding program. The award covers supplies furnished from July 1, 2008 through March 31, 2010.

Only a few selected medicare suppliers, in addition to Doctor Diabetic Supply, will be authorized by medicare to furnish diabetic testing supplies to an estimated 200,000 beneficiaries who are served by mail-orders in these areas.
